[701] For whomever the form base (rūpāyatana) does not arise, does the mind base (manāyatana) of that one not cease?
For those with mind (sacittaka) who are passing away, their form base does not arise, but it is not the case that their mind base does not cease. For those without form (arūpaka) who are being reborn and those without mind (acittaka) who are passing away, their form base does not arise, and their mind base also does not cease.
Or rather, for whomever the mind base does not cease, does the form base of that one not arise?
For those with form (sarūpaka) who are being reborn, their mind base does not cease, but it is not the case that their form base does not arise. For those without mind who are passing away and those without form who are being reborn, their mind base does not cease, and their form base also does not arise.
