[738] For whomever, wherever, the eye base (cakkhāyatana) will not arise, will the mind base (manāyatana) not cease for that one there?
For those in their final existence (pacchimabhavika) who are being reborn into five-constituent existence (pañcavokāra), and for immaterial beings (arūpa): for them there the eye base will not arise, but it is not the case that for them there the mind base will not cease. For those who are attaining final Nibbāna (parinibbanta) and for non-percipient beings (asaññasatta): for them there the eye base will not arise, and the mind base will not cease.
Or rather, for whomever, wherever, the mind base …?
