[769] For whom the eye base (cakkhāyatana) does not arise, will the form base (rūpāyatana) not cease for him?
For all who are passing away, and for the eyeless who are being reborn: for them the eye base does not arise, but it is not the case that the form base will not cease for them. For those attaining final Nibbāna in the five-constituent existence (pañcavokāra), for those in their final existence in the formless realm (arūpa), and for those who, having been reborn in the formless realm, will attain final Nibbāna — for these, as they are passing away, the eye base does not arise and the form base will not cease.
Or, for whom the form base … Yes.
