[882] For whomever, wherever, the truth of suffering (dukkhasacca) arises, did the truth of the path (maggasacca) arise for that one there?
For beings of the Pure Abodes (Suddhāvāsa) at the moment of arising (uppādakkhaṇa) of the rebirth mind (uppatticitta); for those who have not made the breakthrough (anabhisametāvī) when they are being reborn and at the moment of arising of a mind (citta) in the course of existence (pavatta); and for those being reborn among the non-percipient beings (asaññasatta) — the truth of suffering arises for them there, but the truth of the path did not arise for them there. For those who have made the breakthrough (abhisametāvī) when they are being reborn and at the moment of arising of a mind in the course of existence — the truth of suffering arises for them there, and the truth of the path arose for them there.
Or else, for whomever, wherever, the truth of the path arose, does the truth of suffering arise for that one there?
For those who have made the breakthrough when they are passing away and at the moment of dissolution (bhaṅgakkhaṇa) of a mind in the course of existence, and, in the formless [plane] (arūpa), at the moment of arising of the path and of fruition (phala) — the truth of the path arose for them there, but the truth of suffering does not arise for them there. For those who have made the breakthrough when they are being reborn and at the moment of arising of a mind in the course of existence — the truth of the path arose for them there, and the truth of suffering arises for them there.
