[896] For whomever, wherever, the truth of suffering (dukkhasacca) arises, will the truth of the path (maggasacca) arise for that one there?
At the moment of the arising (uppādakkhaṇa) of the supreme path (aggamagga); for Arahants at the moment of the arising of mind (citta); for those worldlings (puthujjana) who will not obtain the path — as they are being reborn and, in the course of existence (pavatta), at the moment of the arising of mind — and for those being reborn into the plane of misery (apāya) and among the non-percipient beings (asaññasatta): the truth of suffering arises for them there, but the truth of the path will not arise for them there. At the moment of the arising of the mind in immediate succession to which they will obtain the supreme path, and for those others who will obtain the path — as they are being reborn and, in the course of existence, at the moment of the arising of mind: the truth of suffering arises for them there and the truth of the path will arise.
Or, for whomever, wherever, the truth of the path will arise, does the truth of suffering arise for that one there?
At the moment of the dissolution (bhaṅgakkhaṇa) of the mind in immediate succession to which they will obtain the supreme path; for those others who will obtain the path — as they are passing away and, in the course of existence, at the moment of the dissolution of mind — and, in the immaterial plane (arūpa), at the moment of the arising of the path and of fruition (phala): the truth of the path will arise for them there, but the truth of suffering does not arise for them there. At the moment of the arising of the mind in immediate succession to which they will obtain the supreme path, and for those others who will obtain the path — as they are being reborn and, in the course of existence, at the moment of the arising of mind: the truth of the path will arise for them there and the truth of suffering arises.
