Cakkhundarīya

Abhidhammapiṭaka · Yamaka (2) · Vol. 39 · Section 1113

[1113] For whomever, wherever, the eye-faculty (cakkhundriya) arises, will the ear-faculty (sotindriya) arise for that one there? For those in their final existence (pacchimabhavika) who are being reborn into the five-constituent [plane] (pañcavokāra), the eye-faculty arises for them there, but the ear-faculty will not arise for them there. For the others, possessing eyes (sacakkhuka), who are being reborn, for them there both the eye-faculty arises and the ear-faculty will arise. Or else: for whomever, wherever, the ear-faculty will arise, does the eye-faculty arise for that one there? For those passing away from the five-constituent [plane], and for those without eyes (acakkhuka) who are being reborn into the sense-sphere [plane] (kāmāvacara), the ear-faculty will arise for them there, but the eye-faculty does not arise for them there. For those possessing eyes who are being reborn, for them there both the ear-faculty will arise and the eye-faculty arises.
