[1119] For whomever, wherever, the eye faculty (cakkhundriya) arises, will the equanimity faculty (upekkhindriya) arise for that one there?
For beings in their final existence (pacchimabhavika) while they are being reborn into the five-constituent existence (pañcavokāra), and for those possessed of eyes who, having been reborn with joy (somanassa), will attain final Nibbāna, while they are being reborn — for them the eye faculty arises there, but the equanimity faculty will not arise for them there. For the others possessed of eyes, while they are being reborn — for them the eye faculty arises there and the equanimity faculty will arise.
Or rather, for whomever, wherever, the equanimity faculty will arise, does the eye faculty arise for that one there?
For those passing away from the five-constituent existence, for those without eyes while they are being reborn into the sense sphere (kāmāvacara), and for formless beings (arūpa) — for them the equanimity faculty will arise there, but the eye faculty does not arise for them there. For those possessed of eyes, while they are being reborn — for them the equanimity faculty will arise there and the eye faculty arises.
