[1141] For whomever, wherever, the life faculty (jīvitindriya) arises, will the faith faculty (saddhindriya) … the wisdom faculty (paññindriya), the mind faculty (manindriya) arise for that one there?
At the moment of the arising of the final mind (pacchimacitta), and for those being reborn among the non-percipient beings (asaññasatta), the life faculty arises for them there, but the mind faculty will not arise for them there. For the others — those being reborn into four-constituent (catuvokāra) or five-constituent (pañcavokāra) existence, and at the moment of the arising of mind (citta) in the course of existence (pavatta) — for them there the life faculty arises and the mind faculty will arise.
Or rather, for whomever, wherever, the mind faculty will arise, does the life faculty arise for that one there?
For those passing away from four-constituent or five-constituent existence, at the moment of the dissolution of mind in the course of existence, the mind faculty will arise for them there, but the life faculty does not arise for them there. For those being reborn into four-constituent or five-constituent existence, at the moment of the arising of mind in the course of existence, for them there the mind faculty will arise and the life faculty arises.
