Cakkhundarīya

Abhidhammapiṭaka · Yamaka (2) · Vol. 39 · Section 1175

[1175] "For whom the life faculty (jīvitindriya) does not arise, will the faith faculty (saddhindriya) … the wisdom faculty (paññindriya), the mind faculty (manindriya) not arise for him?" For all beings who are passing away, and at the moment of the dissolution of the mind (citta) in the course of existence (pavatta), the life faculty does not arise for them, but it is not the case that the mind faculty will not arise for them. At the moment of the dissolution of the final mind (pacchimacitta), for them the life faculty does not arise and the mind faculty will not arise. "Or, for whom the mind faculty will not arise, does the life faculty not arise for him?" At the moment of the arising of the final mind, the mind faculty will not arise for them, but it is not the case that the life faculty does not arise for them. At the moment of the dissolution of the final mind, for them the mind faculty will not arise and the life faculty does not arise.
