[1215] For whomever the life faculty (jīvitindriya) does not arise therein, will the wisdom faculty (paññindriya) … the mind faculty (manindriya) not arise for that one therein?
For those passing away from the four-constituent (catuvokāra) and the five-constituent (pañcavokāra) [planes], and at the moment of the dissolution (bhaṅgakkhaṇa) of mind (citta) in the course of existence (pavatti): the life faculty does not arise for them therein, but it is not the case that the mind faculty will not arise for them therein. At the moment of the dissolution of the final mind (pacchimacitta), and for those passing away from among the non-percipient beings (asaññasattā): the life faculty does not arise for them therein, and the mind faculty will not arise.
Or rather, for whomever, wherever, the mind faculty will not arise, does the life faculty not arise for that one therein?
At the moment of the arising (uppādakkhaṇa) of the final mind, and for those being reborn among the non-percipient beings: the mind faculty will not arise for them therein, but it is not the case that the life faculty does not arise for them therein. At the moment of the dissolution of the final mind, and for those passing away from among the non-percipient beings: the mind faculty will not arise for them therein, and the life faculty does not arise.
