[1214] For whomever, wherever, the life faculty (jīvitindriya) does not arise, will the faith faculty (saddhindriya) not arise for that one there?
For those passing away from the four-constituent (catuvokāra) and five-constituent (pañcavokāra) [planes], and at the moment of dissolution (bhaṅgakkhaṇa) of the mind (citta) in the course of existence (pavatti): for them the life faculty does not arise there, but it is not the case that the faith faculty will not arise for them there. At the moment of dissolution of the final mind (pacchimacitta), and for those passing away from the non-percipient beings (asaññasatta): for them, there, both the life faculty does not arise and the faith faculty will not arise.
Or rather, for whomever, wherever, the faith faculty will not arise, does the life faculty not arise for that one there?
At the moment of arising (uppādakkhaṇa) of the final mind, and for those being reborn among the non-percipient beings: for them the faith faculty will not arise there, but it is not the case that the life faculty does not arise for them there. At the moment of dissolution of the final mind, and for those passing away from the non-percipient beings: for them, there, both the faith faculty will not arise and the life faculty does not arise.
