[709] For whomever, wherever, the life faculty (jīvitindriya) does not arise, does the mind faculty (manindriya) not arise for that one there?
Yes (āmantā).
Or rather: for whomever, wherever, the mind faculty does not arise, does the life faculty not arise for that one there?
For mindless (acittaka) beings who are being reborn, the mind faculty does not arise for them there, yet it is not the case that the life faculty does not arise for them there. For all beings who are passing away, and at the moment of dissolution (bhaṅgakkhaṇa) of the mind (citta) in the course of existence (pavatti), the mind faculty does not arise for them there and the life faculty does not arise.
