[639] "For whomever the life faculty (jīvitindriya) does not arise, does the mind faculty (manindriya) not arise for that one?"
"Yes."
"Or rather, for whomever the mind faculty does not arise, does the life faculty not arise for that one?"
"For mindless beings (acittaka) who are being reborn — for them the mind faculty does not arise, but it is not the case that for them the life faculty does not arise. For all who are passing away, and at the moment of the dissolution of the mind (citta) in the course of existence (pavatti) — for them the mind faculty does not arise and the life faculty does not arise."
