[1390] "Whoever will not abandon the grief faculty (domanassindriya), will he not develop the perfect-knowledge faculty (aññindriya)?"
Two persons (puggalā) will not abandon the grief faculty, yet it is not that they will not develop the perfect-knowledge faculty. Three persons will not abandon the grief faculty and will not develop the perfect-knowledge faculty.
"Or rather, whoever will not develop the perfect-knowledge faculty, will he not abandon the grief faculty?"
Yes.
