[166] For whomever, wherever, wholesome phenomena (kusalā dhammā) arise, will unwholesome phenomena (akusalā dhammā) arise for that one there?
At the moment of arising (uppādakkhaṇa) of the supreme path (aggamagga), and at the moment of arising of that mind (citta) immediately after which they will attain the supreme path — for those, there, wholesome phenomena arise, but unwholesome phenomena will not arise for them there. At the moment of arising of the wholesome states of the others, for those, there, both wholesome phenomena arise and unwholesome phenomena will arise.
Or rather: for whomever, wherever, unwholesome phenomena will arise, do wholesome phenomena arise for that one there?
For all, at the moment of dissolution (bhaṅgakkhaṇa) of mind, and at the moment of arising of a mind dissociated from the wholesome (kusalavippayutta) — for those, there, unwholesome phenomena will arise, but wholesome phenomena do not arise for them there. At the moment of arising of wholesome states, for those, there, both unwholesome phenomena will arise and wholesome phenomena arise.
