[258] For whomever, wherever, wholesome phenomena (dhammā) cease, will unwholesome phenomena cease for that one there?
At the moment of dissolution (bhaṅgakkhaṇa) of the highest path (aggamagga), and at the moment of dissolution of the mind (citta) immediately after which they will obtain the highest path — for those [persons] there, wholesome phenomena cease, but unwholesome phenomena will not cease for them there. At the moment of dissolution of the wholesome [states] of the others, for them there, wholesome phenomena cease and unwholesome phenomena will cease.
Or else, for whomever, wherever, unwholesome phenomena will cease, do wholesome phenomena cease for that one there?
For all, at the moment of arising (uppādakkhaṇa) of mind, and at the moment of dissolution of a mind dissociated from the wholesome (kusalavippayutta), unwholesome phenomena will cease for them there, but wholesome phenomena do not cease for them there. At the moment of dissolution of the wholesome [states], for them there, unwholesome phenomena will cease and wholesome phenomena cease.
