[279] "For whomever, wherever, wholesome phenomena (kusalā dhammā) have not ceased, will unwholesome phenomena (akusalā dhammā) not cease for that one there?"
For beings of the Pure Abodes (Suddhāvāsa), while the second mind (citta) is occurring, wholesome phenomena have not ceased for them there, but it is not the case that unwholesome phenomena will not cease for them there. For non-percipient beings (asaññasattā), wholesome phenomena have not ceased for them there, and unwholesome phenomena will not cease.
"Or, for whomever, wherever, unwholesome phenomena will not cease, have wholesome phenomena not ceased for that one there?"
For those endowed with the supreme path (aggamagga), for Arahants (arahantā), and for those who will obtain the supreme path in immediate succession to whichever mind — unwholesome phenomena will not cease for them there, but it is not the case that wholesome phenomena have not ceased for them there. For non-percipient beings, unwholesome phenomena will not cease for them there, and wholesome phenomena have not ceased.
