[357] For whomever wholesome phenomena (kusalā dhammā) do not arise, will unwholesome phenomena (akusalā dhammā) not cease for him?
For all [beings] at the moment of dissolution (bhaṅgakkhaṇa) of mind (citta), at the moment of arising (uppādakkhaṇa) of a mind dissociated from the wholesome (kusalavippayuttacitta), for those attained to cessation (nirodhasamāpanna), and for non-percipient beings (asaññasatta): wholesome phenomena do not arise for them, but it is not the case that unwholesome phenomena will not cease for them. At the moment of dissolution of the supreme path (aggamagga), for Arahants, and at the moment of dissolution of the mind immediately after which they will obtain the supreme path: for them wholesome phenomena do not arise and unwholesome phenomena will not cease.
Or rather, for whomever unwholesome phenomena will not cease, do wholesome phenomena not arise for him?
At the moment of arising of the supreme path, and at the moment of arising of the mind immediately after which they will obtain the supreme path: unwholesome phenomena will not cease for them, but it is not the case that wholesome phenomena do not arise for them. At the moment of dissolution of the supreme path, for Arahants, and at the moment of dissolution of the mind immediately after which they will obtain the supreme path: for them unwholesome phenomena will not cease and wholesome phenomena do not arise.
