Cakkhundarīya

Abhidhammapiṭaka · Yamaka (2) · Vol. 39 · Section 488

[488] For whomever the eye-faculty (cakkhundriya) arises, does the ear-faculty (sotindriya) arise for that one? For those with the eye but without the ear who are being reborn, the eye-faculty arises for them, but the ear-faculty does not arise for them. For those with the eye and with the ear who are being reborn, for them both the eye-faculty arises and the ear-faculty arises. Or, for whomever the ear-faculty arises, does the eye-faculty arise for that one? For those with the ear but without the eye who are being reborn, the ear-faculty arises for them, but the eye-faculty does not arise for them. For those with the ear and with the eye who are being reborn, for them both the ear-faculty arises and the eye-faculty arises.
