[501] For whomever the nose faculty (ghānindriya) arises, does the joy faculty (somanassindriya) arise for that one?
For those possessing a nose who are being reborn without joy (somanassa), for them the nose faculty arises, but the joy faculty does not arise for them. For those possessing a nose who are being reborn with joy, for them both the nose faculty arises and the joy faculty arises.
Or rather, for whomever the joy faculty arises, does the nose faculty arise for that one?
For those without a nose who are being reborn with joy, for them the joy faculty arises, but the nose faculty does not arise for them. For those possessing a nose who are being reborn with joy, for them both the joy faculty arises and the nose faculty arises.
