[531] For whomever the faith faculty (saddhindriya) arises, does the wisdom faculty (paññindriya) arise for that one?
For those [beings] with root-cause (sahetuka) but dissociated from knowledge (ñāṇa) who are being reborn, and, in the course of existence (pavatti), at the moment of arising of a mind (citta) associated with faith (saddhā) but dissociated from knowledge: for them the faith faculty arises, but the wisdom faculty does not arise for them. For those with root-cause and associated with knowledge who are being reborn, and, in the course of existence, at the moment of arising of a mind associated with faith and associated with knowledge: for them both the faith faculty arises and the wisdom faculty arises.
Or rather, for whomever the wisdom faculty arises, does the faith faculty arise for that one?
Yes.
