[532] For whomever the faith faculty (saddhindriya) arises, does the mind faculty (manindriya) arise for that one?
Yes.
Or, for whomever the mind faculty arises, does the faith faculty arise for that one?
For those possessing mind (sacittaka) but without roots (ahetuka) who are being reborn, and, in the course of existence (pavatta), at the moment of arising of a mind (citta) dissociated from faith — for them the mind faculty arises, but the faith faculty does not arise for them. For those with roots (sahetuka) who are being reborn, and, in the course of existence, at the moment of arising of a mind associated with faith — for them the mind faculty arises and the faith faculty arises.
