[610] For whomever the eye faculty (cakkhundriya) does not arise, does the equanimity faculty (upekkhindriya) not arise for that one?
For those without eyes who are being reborn with equanimity (upekkhā), the eye faculty does not arise, but it is not the case that the equanimity faculty does not arise for them. For all who are passing away, and for those without eyes who are being reborn without equanimity, the eye faculty does not arise and the equanimity faculty also does not arise.
Or rather, for whomever the equanimity faculty does not arise, does the eye faculty not arise for that one?
For those with eyes who are being reborn without equanimity, the equanimity faculty does not arise, but it is not the case that the eye faculty does not arise for them. For all who are passing away, and for those without eyes who are being reborn without equanimity, the equanimity faculty does not arise and the eye faculty also does not arise.
