Cakkhundarīya

Abhidhammapiṭaka · Yamaka (2) · Vol. 39 · Section 680

[680] For whomever, wherever, the eye faculty (cakkhundriya) does not arise, does the equanimity faculty (upekkhindriya) not arise for that one there? For those without eye who are being reborn with equanimity, the eye faculty does not arise for them there, yet it is not the case that the equanimity faculty does not arise for them there. For all who are passing away, and for those without eye who are being reborn without equanimity, for them there the eye faculty does not arise and the equanimity faculty does not arise. Or rather, for whomever, wherever, the equanimity faculty does not arise, does the eye faculty not arise for that one there? For those with eye who are being reborn without equanimity, the equanimity faculty does not arise for them there, yet it is not the case that the eye faculty does not arise for them there. For all who are passing away, and for those without eye who are being reborn without equanimity, for them there the equanimity faculty does not arise and the eye faculty does not arise.
