[646] For whomever the equanimity faculty (upekkhindriya) does not arise, does the mind faculty (manindriya) not arise for that one?
For those with mind (sacittaka) who are being reborn without equanimity (upekkhā), and, in the course of existence (pavatta), at the moment of arising of a mind (citta) dissociated from equanimity — for them the equanimity faculty does not arise, but it is not the case that for them the mind faculty does not arise. For all [beings] at the moment of dissolution of mind, for those who have attained cessation (nirodhasamāpanna), and for non-percipient beings (asaññasatta) — for them both the equanimity faculty does not arise and the mind faculty does not arise.
Or rather, for whomever the mind faculty does not arise, does the equanimity faculty not arise for that one?
