[649] For whom the wisdom faculty (paññindriya) does not arise, does the mind faculty (manindriya) not arise for that one?
For those dissociated from knowledge (ñāṇavippayutta), possessed of mind (sacittaka), who are being reborn, and, in the course of existence (pavatta), at the moment of arising (uppādakkhaṇa) of a mind (citta) dissociated from knowledge — for them the wisdom faculty does not arise, yet it is not the case that the mind faculty does not arise for them. For all [beings] at the moment of dissolution (bhaṅgakkhaṇa) of mind, for those who have attained cessation (nirodhasamāpanna), and for non-percipient beings (asaññasatta) — for them both the wisdom faculty does not arise and the mind faculty does not arise.
Or rather, for whom the mind faculty does not arise, does the wisdom faculty not arise for that one?
Yes (āmantā).
