[706] For whomever, wherever, the life faculty (jīvitindriya) does not arise, does the equanimity faculty (upekkhindriya) not arise for that one there?
Yes (āmantā).
Or else, for whomever, wherever, the equanimity faculty does not arise, does the life faculty not arise for that one there?
For those being reborn without equanimity (upekkhā), and, in the course of existence (pavatti), at the moment of arising (uppādakkhaṇa) of a mind (citta) dissociated (vippayutta) from equanimity — for them there the equanimity faculty does not arise, yet it is not the case that for them there the life faculty does not arise. For all who are passing away, and, in the course of existence, at the moment of dissolution (bhaṅgakkhaṇa) of the mind — for them there the equanimity faculty does not arise and the life faculty does not arise.
