[842] For whom the eye faculty (cakkhundriya) will arise, will the joy faculty (somanassindriya) arise for him?
Those possessing eyes who, having been reborn with equanimity (upekkhā), will attain final Nibbāna (parinibbāna) — for them the eye faculty will arise, but the joy faculty will not arise for them; for the others, both the eye faculty will arise and the joy faculty will arise.
Or rather, for whom the joy faculty will arise, will the eye faculty arise for him?
