[921] For whomever, wherever, the joy faculty (somanassindriya) will arise, will the equanimity faculty (upekkhindriya) arise for that one there?
Those in immediate succession to whose mind (citta) the final mind (pacchimacitta) associated with joy will arise — for them, there, the joy faculty will arise, but the equanimity faculty will not arise for them there. For the others — those with four constituents (catuvokāra) and those with five constituents (pañcavokāra) — for them, there, both the joy faculty will arise and the equanimity faculty will arise.
Or rather, for whomever, wherever, the equanimity faculty will arise, will the joy faculty arise for that one there?
Those in immediate succession to whose mind the final mind associated with equanimity will arise — for them, there, the equanimity faculty will arise, but the joy faculty will not arise for them there. For the others — those with four constituents and those with five constituents — for them, there, both the equanimity faculty will arise and the joy faculty will arise.
