Cakkhundarīya

Abhidhammapiṭaka · Yamaka (2) · Vol. 39 · Section 938

[938] For whomever the nose faculty (ghānindriya) will not arise, will the equanimity faculty (upekkhindriya) not arise for him? Those who, having been reborn in the form sphere (rūpāvacara) or the formless sphere (arūpāvacara), will attain final Nibbāna: for them the nose faculty will not arise, but it is not the case that the equanimity faculty will not arise for them. For those in their final existence (pacchimabhavika), and for those who, having been reborn in the form sphere with joy (somanassa), will attain final Nibbāna: for them the nose faculty will not arise, and the equanimity faculty will not arise. Or rather, for whomever the equanimity faculty will not arise, will the nose faculty not arise for him? Those who, possessed of a nose (saghānaka), having been reborn with joy, will attain final Nibbāna: for them the equanimity faculty will not arise, but it is not the case that the nose faculty will not arise for them. For those in their final existence, and for those who, having been reborn in the form sphere with joy, will attain final Nibbāna: for them the equanimity faculty will not arise, and the nose faculty will not arise.
