[1626] A phenomenon (dhamma) that is clung-to and subject to clinging (upādinnupādāniya) and a phenomenon that is not clung-to but subject to clinging (anupādinnupādāniya) are a condition for a phenomenon that is not clung-to but subject to clinging by presence condition (atthi-paccaya): conascent (sahajāta), prenascent (purejāta), postnascent (pacchājāta), nutriment (āhāra).
Conascent: aggregates (khandhā) that are clung-to and subject to clinging, and the primary elements (mahābhūtā), are a condition for mind-originated forms (cittasamuṭṭhāna-rūpa) by presence condition.
Prenascent: the form base (rūpāyatana) that is not clung-to but subject to clinging, and the [heart-]base (vatthu), [are a condition] for aggregates that are not clung-to but subject to clinging. … The tangible-object base (phoṭṭhabbāyatana) that is not clung-to but subject to clinging, and the [heart-]base, are a condition for aggregates that are not clung-to but subject to clinging by presence condition.
Postnascent: aggregates that are clung-to and subject to clinging, and edible nutriment (kabaḷīkāra āhāra) that is not clung-to but subject to clinging, are a condition for the body that is not clung-to but subject to clinging by presence condition. Edible nutriment that is clung-to and subject to clinging, and that is not clung-to but subject to clinging, is a condition for the body that is not clung-to but subject to clinging by presence condition.
