[1703] A phenomenon that is undefiled and not subject to defilement (asaṅkiliṭṭha-asaṅkilesika) is a condition, by decisive-support condition (upanissaya-paccaya), for a phenomenon that is undefiled but subject to defilement (asaṅkiliṭṭha-saṅkilesika): object decisive-support (ārammaṇūpanissaya), proximity decisive-support (anantarūpanissaya), natural decisive-support (pakatūpanissaya).
Natural decisive-support: Noble ones (ariyā), in dependence on the path, produce an attainment (samāpatti) not yet arisen, enter an attainment that has arisen, and contemplate formations (saṅkhāra) with insight as impermanent, as suffering (dukkha), as not-self. The path is a condition, by decisive-support condition, for the noble ones' discrimination of meaning (attha-paṭisambhidā), of dhamma …, of language (nirutti) …, of perspicuity (paṭibhāna) …, and for skill in what is possible and what is impossible (ṭhānāṭhāna-kosalla). The attainment of fruition (phala-samāpatti) is a condition, by decisive-support condition, for bodily pleasure.
