[139] A phenomenon without thought-conception and without discursive thought (avitakka-avicāra dhamma) is a condition (paccaya) for a phenomenon without thought-conception and with discursive thought only (avitakka-vicāramatta dhamma), by way of object condition (ārammaṇa-paccaya).
Noble ones (ariyā), having emerged from a jhāna without thought-conception and without discursive thought, … from the path (magga) … from fruition (phala) … they review the fruition; taking that as object, thought-conception (vitakka) arises.
Noble ones review Nibbāna. Nibbāna is a condition for the path and the fruition that are without thought-conception and with discursive thought only, and for thought-conception, by way of object condition.
One sees with insight the eye as impermanent, as suffering (dukkha), as not-self … the [heart-]base (vatthu) … the aggregates (khandha) without thought-conception and without discursive thought, and discursive thought (vicāra), as impermanent, as suffering, as not-self; one relishes it and delights in it; taking that as object, thought-conception arises.
Taking as object the aggregates without thought-conception and without discursive thought, and discursive thought, thought-conception arises.
