[163] A phenomenon (dhamma) that is without thought-conception (vitakka) and without discursive thought (vicāra) is a condition for a phenomenon that is with thought-conception and with discursive thought by predominance condition (adhipati-paccaya).
Object-predominance (ārammaṇādhipati): Noble ones (ariyā), having emerged from jhāna that is without thought-conception and without discursive thought … from the path (magga) … from the fruition (phala), review the fruition, having esteemed it (garuṃ katvā); having esteemed that, aggregates (khandhā) that are with thought-conception and with discursive thought arise.
Noble ones review Nibbāna, having esteemed it. Nibbāna is a condition for change-of-lineage (gotrabhū), for cleansing (vodāna), and for the path and the fruition that are with thought-conception and with discursive thought by predominance condition.
Having esteemed the eye, one relishes it and delights in it; having esteemed that, lust (rāga) arises, view (diṭṭhi) arises. Having esteemed the ear … the nose, the tongue, the body, forms, sounds, odours, tastes, tangible objects, the (heart-)base (vatthu) … the aggregates that are without thought-conception and without discursive thought, and discursive thought, one relishes them and delights in them; having esteemed that, lust arises, view arises.
