[140] A phenomenon (dhamma) without thought-conception and without discursive thought (avitakka-avicāra) is a condition, by way of object condition (ārammaṇa-paccaya), both for a phenomenon without thought-conception, with discursive thought only (avitakka-vicāramatta), and for a phenomenon without thought-conception and without discursive thought.
Nibbāna is a condition, by way of object condition, for the path (magga) that is without thought-conception, with discursive thought only, for the fruition (phala), and for discursive thought (vicāra).
