[190] A phenomenon (dhamma) that is without applied thought and with sustained thought only (avitakka-vicāramatta) and a phenomenon that is without applied thought and without sustained thought (avitakka-avicāra) are a condition for a phenomenon that is without applied thought and without sustained thought, by immediacy condition (anantara-paccaya).
The preceding aggregates (khandhā) that are without applied thought and with sustained thought only, together with sustained thought (vicāra), are a condition for each subsequent sustained thought, by immediacy condition.
The death consciousness (cuti-citta) that is without applied thought and with sustained thought only, together with sustained thought, is a condition for the rebirth consciousness (upapatti-citta) that is without applied thought and without sustained thought, by immediacy condition.
The aggregates that are without applied thought and with sustained thought only, together with sustained thought, are a condition for the emergence (vuṭṭhāna) that is without applied thought and without sustained thought, by immediacy condition.
