[195] A phenomenon with thought-conception and discursive thought (savitakkasavicāra dhamma) and a phenomenon without thought-conception and with mere discursive thought (avitakkavicāramatta dhamma) are a condition for a phenomenon without thought-conception and without discursive thought (avitakka-avicāra dhamma) by immediacy condition (anantara-paccaya).
Adverting (āvajjanā) and thought-conception (vitakka) are a condition for the five consciousnesses (viññāṇa) by immediacy condition. A death consciousness (cuti-citta) with thought-conception and discursive thought, and thought-conception, are a condition for a rebirth consciousness (upapatti-citta) without thought-conception and without discursive thought, and for discursive thought (vicāra), by immediacy condition. Aggregates (khandhā) with thought-conception and discursive thought, and thought-conception, are a condition for emergence (vuṭṭhāna) without thought-conception and without discursive thought, and for discursive thought, by immediacy condition.
The preliminary work (parikamma) for the second jhāna, and thought-conception, are a condition for the second jhāna and for discursive thought by immediacy condition.
