[1974] A phenomenon with a past object (atītārammaṇo dhammo) is a condition for a phenomenon with a future object (anāgatārammaṇo dhammo) by way of object condition (ārammaṇa-paccaya).
One reviews the future sphere of the infinity of consciousness (viññāṇañcāyatana); one reviews the sphere of neither perception nor non-perception (nevasaññānāsaññāyatana). One reviews the future knowledge of supernormal powers (iddhividha-ñāṇa) that has a past object; the knowledge of penetration of the minds of others (cetopariya-ñāṇa) …; the knowledge of reminiscence of past lives (pubbenivāsānussati-ñāṇa) …; the knowledge of beings faring according to their kamma (yathākammūpaga-ñāṇa) …. One sees with insight the future aggregates (khandhā) that have a past object as impermanent (aniccato) …; one relishes and delights in them; on account of that, lust (rāga) with a future object arises, grief (domanassa) arises. Future aggregates that have a past object are a condition for the knowledge of penetration of the minds of others, for knowledge of the future (anāgataṃsa-ñāṇa), and for adverting (āvajjana), by way of object condition.
