[1975] A phenomenon (dhamma) with a past object (atītārammaṇa) is a condition, by object condition (ārammaṇa-paccaya), for a phenomenon with a present object (paccuppannārammaṇa).
By penetration of the minds of others (cetopariyañāṇa), one knows the mind (citta) of one endowed with a present (paccuppanna) mind that has a past object.
Present aggregates (khandhā) with a past object are a condition, by object condition, for penetration of the minds of others and for adverting (āvajjana).
