[2081] An external phenomenon (bahiddhā dhamma) is a condition for an external phenomenon by predominance condition (adhipati-paccaya): object-predominance (ārammaṇādhipati), conascence-predominance (sahajātādhipati).
Object-predominance: Another, having given a gift (dāna), virtue (sīla) … the uposatha observance … esteeming that … esteeming [deeds] formerly well done … having emerged from jhāna … Noble ones (ariyā), having emerged from the path (magga), esteeming the path … esteeming the fruition (phala) … Nibbāna is a condition for change-of-lineage (gotrabhū), for purification (vodāna), for the path, for the fruition, by predominance condition. Esteeming the external eye (cakkhu) … the base (vatthu) … the external aggregates (khandhā), one relishes and delights in them; esteeming that, lust (rāga) … wrong view (diṭṭhi) arises.
Conascence-predominance: External predominance is a condition for the associated (sampayuttaka) aggregates and for mind-originated forms (cittasamuṭṭhāna-rūpa) by predominance condition.
