[2089] An internal phenomenon (ajjhatta dhamma) is a condition for an internal phenomenon by prenascence condition (purejāta-paccaya): object-prenascence (ārammaṇa-purejāta) and base-prenascence (vatthu-purejāta).
Object-prenascence: the internal eye … the base (vatthu) as impermanent, as suffering (dukkha), as non-self …; grief (domanassa) arises. With the divine eye (dibbacakkhu), a form …; with the divine ear element (dibbā sotadhātu) one hears a sound. The form base (rūpāyatana) is a condition for eye-consciousness (cakkhuviññāṇa), the tangible base (phoṭṭhabbāyatana) for body-consciousness (kāyaviññāṇa), by prenascence condition.
Base-prenascence: the eye base (cakkhāyatana) is a condition for eye-consciousness, the body base (kāyāyatana) for body-consciousness; the base is a condition for the internal aggregates (khandhā) by prenascence condition.
