[295] A phenomenon with thought and with examination (savitakka-savicāra dhamma) and a phenomenon without thought but with mere examination (avitakka-vicāramatta dhamma) are a condition, by decisive-support condition (upanissaya-paccaya), for a phenomenon without thought and without examination (avitakka-avicāra dhamma): proximity decisive support (anantarūpanissaya), natural decisive support (pakatūpanissaya).
Natural decisive support: Faith (saddhā) that is with thought and with examination … virtue (sīla), learning (suta), generosity (cāga), wisdom (paññā) … aspiration (patthanā) … and thought (vitakka) are a condition, by decisive-support condition, for faith that is without thought and without examination, for virtue, for learning, for generosity, for wisdom, and for examination (vicāra), for bodily pleasure, for bodily pain.
