Abhidhammapiṭaka · Paṭṭhāna (2) · Vol. 41 · Section 308

[308] A phenomenon (dhamma) accompanied by thought-conception and discursive thought (savitakka-savicāra) is a condition for a phenomenon accompanied by thought-conception and discursive thought by repetition condition (āsevana-paccaya): Each preceding set of aggregates (khandhā) accompanied by thought-conception and discursive thought is a condition for each subsequent set of aggregates accompanied by thought-conception and discursive thought by repetition condition. Conformity (anuloma) is a condition for change-of-lineage (gotrabhū); conformity for cleansing (vodāna); change-of-lineage for the path (magga) accompanied by thought-conception and discursive thought; cleansing for the path accompanied by thought-conception and discursive thought — by repetition condition.
