[324] A phenomenon (dhamma) accompanied by thought-conception and discursive thought (savitakka-savicāra) and a phenomenon without thought-conception, with mere discursive thought (avitakka-vicāramatta), are a condition, by way of repetition condition (āsevana-paccaya), for a phenomenon accompanied by thought-conception and discursive thought.
Each preceding [set of] aggregates (khandhā) accompanied by thought-conception and discursive thought, together with thought-conception (vitakka), is a condition, by way of repetition condition, for each subsequent [set of] aggregates accompanied by thought-conception and discursive thought.
Conformity (anuloma) and thought-conception are a condition for change-of-lineage (gotrabhū); conformity and thought-conception are a condition for cleansing (vodāna); change-of-lineage and thought-conception are a condition for the path (magga) accompanied by thought-conception and discursive thought; cleansing and thought-conception are a condition for the path accompanied by thought-conception and discursive thought — by way of repetition condition.
