[715] A phenomenon (dhamma) to be abandoned neither by seeing nor by development (nevadassanena-nabhāvanāya-pahātabba) is a condition, by decisive-support condition (upanissaya-paccaya), for a phenomenon to be abandoned by seeing (dassanena pahātabba): object decisive-support (ārammaṇūpanissaya), proximity decisive-support (anantarūpanissaya), natural decisive-support (pakatūpanissaya).
Natural decisive-support: in dependence on faith (saddhā) … one grasps a view (diṭṭhi); in dependence on virtue (sīla) … a lodging (senāsana), one kills a living being … causes schism in the Saṅgha. Faith … lodging is a condition, by decisive-support condition, for lust (rāga) that is to be abandoned by seeing, for hatred, for delusion, for view, for longing (patthanā).
