[931] A phenomenon (dhamma) whose root is to be abandoned neither by seeing nor by development (neva-dassanena-na-bhāvanāya-pahātabbahetuka) is a condition, by decisive-support condition (upanissaya-paccaya), for a phenomenon whose root is to be abandoned by development (bhāvanāya-pahātabbahetuka).
Object decisive-support (ārammaṇūpanissaya), proximity decisive-support (anantarūpanissaya), natural decisive-support (pakatūpanissaya).
Natural decisive-support: in dependence on faith (saddhā) … one conceives conceit (māna); in dependence on delusion (moha) … one conceives conceit.
Faith … lodging (senāsana) … and delusion are a condition, by decisive-support condition, for lust (rāga) whose root is to be abandoned by development, and for longing (patthanā).
