[742] A phenomenon (dhamma) to be abandoned neither by seeing nor by development is a condition, by presence condition (atthi-paccaya), for a phenomenon to be abandoned neither by seeing nor by development: conascent, prenascent, postnascent, nutriment, faculty.
Conascent: one aggregate (khandha) to be abandoned neither by seeing nor by development is a condition, by presence condition, for the three aggregates and for the forms originated by mind (cittasamuṭṭhāna); at the moment of rebirth-linking (paṭisandhikkhaṇa), the aggregates are a condition, by presence condition, for the base (vatthu), and the base is a condition, by presence condition, for the aggregates; one primary element (mahābhūta) … (In brief.) Prenascent: one contemplates with insight the eye as impermanent, as suffering (dukkha), as not-self; the ear … the body, forms … tangibles … one contemplates with insight the base as impermanent, as suffering, as not-self; one sees a form with the divine eye, hears a sound with the divine ear element (sotadhātu). The form base (rūpāyatana) [is a condition] for eye-consciousness (cakkhuviññāṇa), the tangible base (phoṭṭhabbāyatana) for body-consciousness (kāyaviññāṇa), the eye base (cakkhāyatana) for eye-consciousness, the body base (kāyāyatana) for body-consciousness; the base is a condition, by presence condition, for the aggregates to be abandoned neither by seeing nor by development.
Postnascent: aggregates to be abandoned neither by seeing nor by development are a condition, by presence condition, for this prenascent body.
