[744] A phenomenon (dhamma) to be abandoned neither by seeing (dassana) nor by development (bhāvanā) is a condition, by way of presence condition (atthi-paccaya), for a phenomenon to be abandoned by development.
Prenascence (purejāta): One relishes and delights in the eye (cakkhu); with that as the object, lust (rāga) to be abandoned by development arises, view (diṭṭhi) arises, grief (domanassa) to be abandoned by development … the ear (sota) … one relishes and delights in the base (vatthu). The base is a condition, by way of presence condition, for the aggregates (khandhā) to be abandoned by development.
