[308] A mundane (lokiya) phenomenon (dhamma) is a condition for a mundane phenomenon by prenascence condition (purejāta-paccaya): object-prenascence (ārammaṇapurejāta) and base-prenascence (vatthupurejāta).
Object-prenascence: The eye … the base as impermanent, as suffering (dukkha), as non-self … grief arises. One sees a form (rūpa) with the divine eye (dibbacakkhu); one hears a sound with the divine ear element (dibbasotadhātu). The form base (rūpāyatana) is a condition for eye-consciousness (cakkhuviññāṇa), the tangible base (phoṭṭhabbāyatana) for body-consciousness (kāyaviññāṇa).
Base-prenascence: The eye base (cakkhāyatana) is a condition for eye-consciousness, the body base (kāyāyatana) for body-consciousness; the base (vatthu) is a condition for the mundane aggregates (khandha) by prenascence condition.
A mundane phenomenon is a condition for a supramundane (lokuttara) phenomenon by prenascence condition: Base-prenascence: the base is a condition for the supramundane aggregates by prenascence condition.
