[487] A phenomenon (dhamma) that is both a fetter (saññojana) and associated with fetters is a condition, by root condition (hetu-paccaya), for a phenomenon that is both a fetter and associated with fetters:
The fetter of sensual lust (kāmarāga-saññojana) is a condition, by root condition, for the fetter of views (diṭṭhi-saññojana) and for the fetter of ignorance (avijjā-saññojana). The cycle (cakkaṃ).
A phenomenon that is both a fetter and associated with fetters is a condition, by root condition, for a phenomenon that is associated with fetters but is not a fetter:
Roots (hetū) that are both fetters and associated with fetters are a condition, by root condition, for the associated aggregates (khandhā).
A phenomenon that is both a fetter and associated with fetters is a condition, by root condition, for a phenomenon that is both a fetter and associated with fetters and for a phenomenon that is associated with fetters but is not a fetter:
